Suad El-Amin, A Singer/Songwriter who truly Inspires

Suad takes great pride in knowing that she worked closely with Imam Warith Deen Mohammed, in helping to establish the culture that he envisioned for our community and the world. A culture that for us, represents our Islamic spirit, in our African American music.

In 1991 Suad had the honor of performing for the "mother of the civil rights movement", Mrs. Rosa Parks at the Tropicana Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. She sang the Neville Brother's classic for the icon, "Thank you sister Rosa, you are the spark! You started our freedom movement, Thank you sister Rosa Parks!"

In 2000, Suad was one of the performers at the Focolare, American Muslim Society Interfaith Conference. Featuring Lady Chiara Lubich, (Italian Catholic Activist/Leader and Foundress of the Focolare Movement), and Imam WD Mohammed, (Muslim American Leader).

In March of 2005, Suad performed at the Millions More Movement March, in Washington DC. Sponsored by The Nation of Islam. It was there where Suad received an honorary title mention of Dr. Suad El- Amin, by The Event Hostess, Dr Julianne Malveaux. There Suad delivered a powerful performance from the steps of the United States Capitol. She shared the stage with such artists as Wyclef John, Erykah Badu, India Arie, and others.

In 2007 Suad had an opportunity to perform for The Sacred Activism, and The Power of Inclusion Conference, in Tulsa Oklahoma. Which was sponsored by The Wisdom University, with the purpose of promoting a movement of inclusion and hope. Comprised of people who have participated in the major social movements of the past 50 years. The group constitutes the new moral majority of America.

In 2009 Suad was invited by The Council for A Parliament of the World Religions to be a performer and presenter in Melbourne, Australia. The Parliament was created to cultivate harmony among the world’s religious and spiritual communities. In order to achieve a just, peaceful, and sustainable world. There Suad shared with the audience, some of her faith based, inspirational music.

In 2012 Suad’s co-sponsored and coordinated a major concert at the Meadowlands Expo Center, in New Jersey, with various artists. Suad was also a performer at this concert as well. The theme for the concert was “One Nation, One Human Family”.

Suad performs for both large and small audiences alike. Her repertoire includes both original and mainstream compositions with a positive and inspiring message!
